I have to admit, I’m kiiiiiiind of obsessed with this new blended coffee recipe, especially since starting a 21-Day Sugar Detox at the beginning of this month. >Jump to recipe<
While it’s a great aim for all of us to lower our added sugar intake, know that even simple pleasures like your daily coffee can still be a happy, healthy part of your morning routine!
This super-simple blended recipe combines delicious coffee with brain-boosting coconut oil, nutritious 100% dark chocolate, and a dash of almond extract, to round out that Almond Joy-like flavor. Plus, I always add a little collagen to my blended coffees, for an extra hit of protein, as well as its hair, skin, nail, and joint benefits! Learn more about collagen in my post here! <<
Almond Joy Blended Coffee Ready in less than 5 minutes Serves 1 person
Ingredients:
12 ounces hot coffee
1/4 cup full-fat coconut milk
1 tablespoon collagen peptides
2 teaspoons raw cacao
1 teaspoon coconut oil
1/4 teaspoon almond extract
Pinch of sea salt (optional)
Method:
Combine all ingredients in a blender or blender cup.
Blend until well combined.
Notes: This blended coffee is best enjoyed hot! That said, if you’d prefer it iced, I’d suggest allowing it to cool, then refrigerating for an hour or so before pouring over ice – just so it doesn’t get watered down. You may need to quickly re-blend if any separation has occurred during chilling. This would also be magical topped with whipped heavy cream or coconut cream. Cheers!
