In my last post, you learned all about collagen – what it is, how to use it, and more! This week, I’m sharing another tasty way to include collagen as a part of your diet, with this yummy smoothie recipe.
You’ll be getting a nice burst of antioxidants from the frozen berries, as well as incorporating a little bit of green veg, courtesy of the chopped frozen spinach. In fact, this ratio of 2 parts fruit to one part veg is the formula I share with my coaching clients to help them incorporate greens into their smoothies, without it becoming overpowering. Feel free to go 1/2 and 1/2 or more with the greens if it suits you!
Pro Tip: When it comes to making smoothies, use frozen fruits and veggies! Not only is frozen produce typically cheaper than fresh, it also lasts a long time in your freezer without going bad. Additionally, it’s packaged at the peak of freshness, so it’s likely to maintain more of its micronutrient content than its traveled-thousands-of-miles-across-the-country counterparts in the produce section.

1/2 teaspoon Raspberry Lemon Natural Calm
Squeeze of fresh lemon juice
Pinch of sea salt (optional)

Notes: This is the perfect smoothie for a warm day, and would be great for breakfast alongside bacon, sausage, or hard-boiled eggs. It could also be enjoyed as a snack, or even as a post-workout beverage. Cheers!
